Should you use ice?

Ice(cryotherapy) is a super popular tool that people use for a variety of reasons.

It was originally popularized by Dr. Gabe Mirkin in 1979 from his book “Sports Medicine” when he coined the term R.I.C.E., for Rest Ice Compression and Elevation. He has since changed his stance and no longer recommends Ice.

A lot of research is also changing showing Ice is not as effective as it used to be thought and may actually do more harm than good.

Even the famous polar plunge, may have some negative effects well specially if you do it after a workout.

There are still some situations when using Ice/cryotherapy is beneficial but it is less often than we think.

I break down in this video when you should and should not used Ice.
